HOLY TRINITY DEACONS

Permanent Deacon: A man who makes a lifelong commitment to serve as deacon either as a celibate or in the married deaconate and is ordained in the first of three orders of Holy Orders. His ministry is one of liturgical and charitable works of mercy. The deacon's liturgical ministry consists of:

  1. Assisting the President of the Eucharistic Assembly
  2. Making intercessions and offering petitions for the people
  3. Presiding at celebrations, especially in those situations in which there is neither priest or bishop
  4. Ministering certain Sacraments
  5. Blessing objects and persons within certain liturgical celebrations
  6. Proclaiming and preaching the word of God
  7. Assisting the bishop in Episcopal and cathedral liturgies

The deacon's charitable works of mercy are those that are defined by need within the parish community or by the Ordinary (Bishop).

Deacon Jerry Micek

On September 9, 1991 our parish was blessed with the Ordination to the Permanent Diaconate of Jerry Micek. His inspiring ministry of preaching, baptizing, and working for the poor on the west side of San Antonio has endeared him to our parishioners.

Deacon Chris Laskowski

On September 12, 1999 our parish was again blessed with Ordination to the Permanent Diaconate of Norbert "Chris" Laskowski. His enthusiasm for prayer, preaching, and reaching out has made him an immediate grace for our parishioners.

Guy LoTurco was ordained to the Holy Order of the Permanent Diaconate on May 19, 2007 by Archbishop Jose H. Gomez. Guy relies on daily prayer to nurture his faith as he loves and serves God's People.
