"When I entered your house, you did not give me water for my feet, but she has bathed them with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You did not give me a kiss, but she has not ceased kissing my feet since the time I entered. You did not anoint my head with oil, but she anointed my feet with ointment. So, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven; hence, she has shown great love." Luke 7:44b-47a
As a greeter, you will be welcoming people to worship, collect the stewardship offerings and provide the presentation of the gifts to the altar. Along with all other lay ministries in the Church today, the role of the greeter at the Eucharistic celebration is very important. By nature, greeters are persons who want to help; they are, in fact, the first people parishioners encounter when attending a Eucharistic celebration at Holy Trinity. Greeters open doors and help the elderly. They aid in seating arrangements on special occasions, guide parishioners during the Eucharistic celebration and direct parents with young children to the appropriate areas. Greeters serve the community and worship assembly with joy, dependability, kindness and reverence. They prepare the assembly for participation in the sacred liturgy.
